Product Descriptions: Import products with CSV files

You can find the  Import Products button just under the Product Tabs. Once you click this, the Import Products pop-up will appear.

There are two ways to prepare your file for upload:

1. Download and use the provided template

1. Click  sample CSV template to download the sample CSV file. We recommend you download our sample CSV template and paste in your product information into the CSV file for upload. 

2. Prepare your CSV file. Open the file in  Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet editor.

Copy and paste your product data, one product per row, into the spreadsheet.

There are a few columns each product should have:

• title: The product title/name (required).
• imgSrc: The direct link to your product image. This can either be the name of the image file you've uploaded as a zip file or a URL to an image online.
• brand: The brand of your product, if you want it to be featured in the description.
• tags: A list of features that describe your product. These will help our AI understand your product better.
• sku: Your own product reference ID that can help you search for the product within Hypotenuse.

3. Save the file once you're done.

4. Upload your prepared file by clicking Products. Find the CSV file that you prepared to import and click Open. 
Alternatively, drag and drop the file from your file browser into the Products section.

5. After uploading the file, click Next to import your products into your catalog.

2. Use a custom Excel or CSV file, and map your fields

Alternatively, you can upload any Excel or CSV file that contains your product data (title, product attributes, brand). This can be a product export file that you've downloaded from your CMS (Woocommerce, Magento, etc.) 

1. Upload your custom CSV file by clicking  Products. Find the CSV file that you prepared to import and click Open.

2. After uploading the file, click  Next to continue to the mapping page. You'll be able to select which data you want to import into Hypotenuse.

3. For each field, select the correct column corresponding to your data:

• title: The product title/name (required).

• brand: The brand of your product, if you want it to be featured in the description.
• tags: A list of features that describe your product. These will help our AI understand your product better.
• sku: Your own product reference ID that can help you search for the product within Hypotenuse.

4. After mapping your fields, click  Submit to import your products into your catalog.
