Plagiarism Checker

In this article

So, you’ve generated your blog post and added the finishing touches.

Before you share it on the Internet, you can use our plagiarism checker to determine if your content is ready to be published.

The plagiarism checker scans the web in real-time for similar text content from your article.

This feature is powered by Copyscape, the leading plagiarism detection software.

How to check for plagiarism

After generating your article, click the shield icon at the top right hand corner of the blog editor. Our plagiarism checker will appear in a sidebar to the right.

You can either scan the entire document or specific blocks of text (15 words minimum) for plagiarism.

How to interpret the results

Similarity percentage

The similarity percentage is how much text you have in your article that has been found on the Internet. However, this doesn't mean that the content is necessarily plagiarized.

The Copyscape plagiarism checker finds instances of content that appears on multiple websites. This content might be copied from one site to another, or it might be that both sites are quoting from the same external source.

In either case, it is up to you to compare the text to determine which is the case.

Search results

If any results have been found, you will see them listed below the similarity percentage.

Clicking “View text” beside each result will open a new page to that result, and highlight the section which matches your article.

For each result, we encourage you to review and compare each one by looking through the links provided.

From there, you can edit your article to remove any content that could be considered plagiarism.

FAQs

1. Isn’t the content original? Why do you need a plagiarism checker?

Yes, our AI writer generates content entirely from scratch.

However, a plagiarism check provides additional verification on the off-chance that similar text has already been published. This is especially for industries with high volumes of online content.

Since it’s common to research other content while writing, it also makes sure that none of your references are left in the article verbatim.

Search engines don’t like plagiarism, so any copied content will affect your online rankings. Conducting a final check for originality can give you some peace of mind before hitting that publish button.

2. How many checks are available per plan?

The plagiarism checker is only available under the Teams plan.

You can run up to 25 to 50 plagiarism checks per month, depending on your tier.

3. How many words can I check per article?

You can check up to 1,900 words per article. If you consistently need to check more words at once, please get in touch with us.
